HELLOS AND GOODBYES
Last week’s Annual General Meeting was a wonderful opportunity to review our challenges and successes over the last year. The meeting also brought some changes to the Board of Directors, which welcomed new members Laura Smith and Attracta Daurie, and welcomed back Sylvia Booth. We said goodbye to Stacey Godsoe and Ruth Anne Whicher, who are both leaving the board. Best wishes and thanks for all your efforts!

SUPPORT GROUPS
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FROM THE INSIDE OUT
Thursday afternoons, 1:00 to 2:30 pm
This support group focuses on the link between Self Esteem and Assertiveness.  Do you find it difficult to say no or set limits? Do certain people test your boundaries? In a safe and supportive environment, we will examine beliefs and attitudes about ourselves, and the link to our ability to act assertively. We will discuss and practice effective ways to respond in challenging relationships.

Facilitated by Sally Hutchinson, Support Coordinator.

SUPPORT FOR WOMEN WHO GAMBLE

Confidential support is available for women who have stopped gambling and women who are still gambling and wanting to stop.
For further information call Sally Hutchinson 543-1315 or 640-3044 ext.14

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

MAKING CHANGE NEEDS YOUR HELP WITH JARS AND GARDENS

In preparation for a fall launch of our Social Action Committee’s campaign to address violence against women and girls, we’re looking for more one litre jars (no need for covers). During the summer, we’ll be holding a labeling party to apply specially designed sticky labels with a compelling image and information about the campaign. Many hands will make the job lighter! We’re also seeking helpers to begin preparing the ground for a new remembrance garden outside the centre. If you would like to do some digging and weeding, give us a call.

SOCIAL ACTION

We are asking for your involvement and input by becoming a member of the Social Action Committee! The more people who are involved, the more clout we can have. Have your voice heard. Our current focus is action on violence against women. For more information or to become a member call 543-1315 or 640-3044.

SOUP MAKERS

Soup Lunch comes once a month, and we’re adding to our list of soup-makers. If you would like to prepare, or provide ingredients for a batch of soup to feed at least 8 people, give us a call (640-3044 or 543-1315).

VOLUNTEER DRIVERS

If you are a licensed driver and are willing to help out, we need your help. Please contact the Centre to complete the necessary documentation to join our squad of transportation support.
